The Lawrence History Center shared an awesome interview with our beloved founder, Albert Retelle, on their Facebook page earlier this week! Recorded in 1999, it's a part of their WWII exhibit where he recalls his experience the day Pearl Harbor was attacked (and his 38 year old father of 5 decided immediately to enlist) as well as his days throughout the war. So interesting and wonderful to hear his voice again after his passing a few years ago now.

You can listen to the full interview here: http://www.lawrencehistory.org/files/audio/oh/2007.500.440-aretelle.mp3?fbclid=IwAR1-iKYwxI56AN3c6GxVdMObwvqSFGgRi60nok8XIE0YUN2CxggPS9YoYJE.
Well worth the time if you knew Al, or are just a WWII history buff.
