Our company was established in 1967 by Albert Retelle
Al was born in 1930, in Lawrence, to Albert and Alice Retelle and attended St. Patrick’s and Lawrence High School. He graduated from the Stockbridge School of Agriculture in Amherst and subsequently worked many years as a certified arborist, before founding Retelle Tree Service with his wife, Evelyn. They ran the company together, raising five children, until their eldest son, Peter, and his wife, Lee, purchased the company in 1982.
Peter followed in his father's footsteps by becoming a certified arborist with a degree in Arboriculture & Park Management from Stockbridge. He met Lee at UMASS and together they grew the company until Lee’s passing in 2016. Over the years all three of their children - Lindsey, Brian and Riki - have been a part of the business. Today Riki is our foreman and licensed crane operator and Lindsey manages the office and customer relations.
Since our inception brothers, cousins, and countless other family members and friends have been a part of the Retelle Tree team. Built on integrity and strong family and community values, we're very proud to have operated as a small business in the Andover area for over 50 years. We hope to continue to serve for generations to come.
